Panel and portal

Administration panel

The web application where the school director manages all information about the school: students, families, content, billing, and configuration. You sign in with your email address.

Family portal

The public website that families see from their phone or computer. The portal displays news, photo albums, events, and all other content you publish from the panel.

Slug

The variable part of your portal's web address. For example, if your slug is yourschool, the portal opens at yourschool.lyn.cat. You can check it in the Public site section of the sidebar.

Custom domain

A domain or subdomain belonging to your school that replaces the default .lyn.cat address. For example, portal.yourschool.com. Available exclusively on the Arrel plan.

Students and families

Student

Each child registered at the school. The student record stores personal details, tags, and health information. Families are linked to one or more students.

Family

A family unit linked to one or more students. Each family member can have independent access to the portal and receive notifications.

Tag

An identifier assigned to students to group them —for example, by class or school year. Tags control which content each family sees: if a photo album targets the Year 1 tag, only families of those students can view it.

Content and sections

Content

Any item published to the portal: a news article, a photo album, an event, or a static page. Each content piece can target specific tags or all families.

Section

A navigation area of the portal (for example, "News", "Gallery", "Contact"). Sections group content items and are configured through the portal menu.

News article

An article published to the portal to inform families. It can include rich text, images, and action buttons.

Album

A collection of photos published to the portal. Each photo can have a caption.

Authorization

A consent form sent to families to collect their response (yes / no) on a specific topic. Available from the Brot plan onwards.

Daily report

A record of each student's daily activity: meals, rest, mood, and observations. It is visible on the family portal and cannot be edited once sent.

Content statuses

Draft

The initial state of a content item: saved but not visible to families. You can keep editing it without any limit.

Published

The content is visible on the family portal. You can edit it or unpublish it at any time.

Archived

The content no longer appears on the portal but is kept in the panel for reference. Archiving is not the same as deleting: it can be reversed.

Scheduled

The content will be published automatically at the date and time you have set. Until then, it remains invisible to families.

Users and access

Role

The access level of a team member in the panel. The role determines which sections and actions each person can use.

Invitation

An email sent to a new team member so they can activate their account in the panel. The invited person receives a link to set their password and activate the account.

Magic link

A passwordless sign-in option: the system sends an email with a button that opens the session directly. Useful if you prefer not to manage passwords.
